As a Texan who’s lived in California for decades, it shocks me that according to a NationalToday.com Margarita Day Survey, 67 percent of Americans prefer frozen margaritas.

Really? A tequila slushy? Not me. I like them served straight up like a martini or on the rocks in a bucket glass.

Other findings of the survey of 1,000 Americans were not so surprising:

  1. Only 8 percent of Americans hate margaritas. (To which I say, maybe you never had a good one!)
  2.  65 percent of Americans like salt on the rim. (Refreshing that they’re not all diet and health obsessed like we are, que no?)
  3. 15 percent of Americans say margaritas are “always deceptively strong.” (That’s because they taste so good you can’t help overdoing it, am I right?)
