Three men and a woman suspected of stealing a package Monday from a residence in Redondo Beach were arrested when they were pulled over for running a stop sign in Palos Verdes Estates, police said.

The suspects were arrested about 1:45 p.m. after a Palos Verdes Estates police officer saw them commit the violation in the 2100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West, Palos Verdes Estates police Sgt. Steve Barber said.

As the officer investigated, Redondo Beach police put out a broadcast of a package theft that had just occurred in the 900 block of The Esplanade.

Police  found the stolen items — clothing in plastic packages — in the car. The suspects had attempted to hide it under a seat.

The suspects, whose names were not immediately available, were booked into the Redondo Beach jail.
